A Heart and Smile
~~~
He's  lonesome
since  you  walked  the  mile
beyond  the  moor  and  laurel
Your  parting
took  his  heart  and  smile
He  stands  with  no  tomorrow
~
His  eyes
are  cast  in  dullest  grey
and  each  does  but  remind  me
Of  grueling  hours
passed  away
in  sorrows  sights  we  can't  see
~
Perhaps
he  just  relives  that  night
as  stars  shawn  bright  above  you
and  gently
cast  entrancing  light
on  vows  you  both  have  kept  true
~
On  Heaven's  step
you  wait  in  kind
with  loved  ones  there  beside  you
Till  angels
bring  him  home  to  find
the  heart  and  smile  you  cling  to
~~~

Rex~
So lovely are your thoughts ...
and I'm sure she does wait for him -
A prayer vigil I keep for your family.

Your words prove that you are a loving son. I know your mother is smiling down knowing you will take care of your father.

I do not think parents who lose children feel the most pain...I believe whenever there is great love between parent and child, the loss of a parent is truly as great...I know...and I send you my hope that soon you will only recall the good times in the ache of recollection...

and she will want to see you smile again, and soon....
