It's been a while since I blessed y'll with a poem(especially a deep one) but now I have finally got my computer back which will make me able to post some of my longer, deeper, and greater pieces...man I have so much in store for you Passions...anyways, I hope y'll enjoy this poem cause it's so...real(yeah that's it!)

When a man cries
and dries tears from his eyes,
he's only showing his sensitive side,
and that exists, in every man in life.
When a man cries,
some see it as a weakness,
uncovering a man's vulnerability,
and leaving him shieldless,
as his emotions are out in the open,
like boats floating across the ocean
as some say, it's not a man's place to cry
because, they think the only place it abides by,
is tears from a female eyes.
Well, if some of you think that way,
then you are very narrow-minded to see,
that releasing your pain is a normalcy in humanity
because, at times, I cry
and I'm not ashamed of it
as, I welcome tears from my eyes
because, it proves that I'm not perfect
as the relief afterwards, is totally worth it.
I feel that it's alright,
for a man to cry,
as long as he don't cross the line,
that seperates femininity from masculinity.
If a man says that he don't cry,
90% of the time it's a lie
because, he wants all to see
that's he all of masculinity
because, if he had tears on his cheek,
he would be insecure about his masculinity,
as some men are afraid what some will say,
or what negative comments may come their way,
whether they'll be called a sissy or girl
letting that person control their world.
All I can say is ignore the ignorance and stupidity
cause, life's too short to be
narrow-minded and silly.
Whether you believe or not,
that a man should cry,
it's just our perception of life
but if you asked me,
in time, the sun will shine,
and baby, you'll see,
that it's all in your mind!

I think it takes a REAL man to cry, not to hide it. You describe this very well. I'm glad that you see that it's ok to cry sometimes! Looking forward to more!

"cause, life's too short to be
narrow-minded and silly."

great msg nate..

crying the tears releases the poison that will otherwise eat you up..why take a slow death because of your macho ignorance, i say..

the man who is afraid of his tears is not a grown man..maybe in stature..but not in soul..

tears from a man are not a sign of weakness..it shows courage..the courage to take in life, and not be afraid of it..to understand it, to feel it..as it is..not as he would lie to himself that it is..a man who can show his tears is a real man..

and now i'll step down off my little soap box...

hugs, g

Good write my friend.  I've raised my 18 year old son to know crying has nothing to do with manhood and hugging and kissing your father, even in front of friends, doesn't either; and he has gotten a lot of respect from all his friends for being able to do both.

Nate~

a very expressive piece you have
penned here. i so enjoy your "deep poems".
I think its just fine for a man to cry,
as you so beautifully put it, it only
shows he is human. great write! enjoyed
this much. take care.

Enjoyed reading this Nate...indeed crying belongs to us all...can never forget when my wife left me and I would go into the garage to cry from a broken heart and one of my sons told my ex who was still my wife at that time and she told me I was just trying to get my sons to feel sorry for me...she perceived my crying as a weakness...in truth I could not stop myself...perhaps men need to go off into the woods to cry where no one can hear them...no bad memories..just sharing an experience...James

Nate~   It's good to know a man can cry.....it shows me he's real and actually has feelings..........now exactly what is so wrong with being called a girl? Is that a bad thing? Because, I'm called a girl......and I haven't had a problem with it...........   ( sorry , just teasing you )   -SEA (BTW loved the poem)

I have never understood why tears make you any less a man...it seems to me if you are able to exprss what you are feeling, show honest and true emotion, you are VERY secure in your manhood and masculinity...theres nothing more real than tears
