The amazement of love
is a fantasy come true
a mystic wonderland
a castle in the sky
they say love is blind
why  would one jump
from a parachute
made of wishes?

love can fool the heart
misunderstanding whispers
in the still of the dark
in the darkness far beyond
love can soar
in the galaxy of a land
never explored before

love can make you feel
it wasnt worth the trip
a waste of precious time
when you fall and slip
upon the grape of the night
brusing your heart
until the next time

the lullaby of love
sings sweetly
upon your soul..to the ballet
tip toeing across the blindfold
of your eyes

Wonderful opening... it drew me in from there on... much truth in this.. "Why would one jump from a parachute made of wishes?" Thats a powerful question and one I've asked myself many times (not in those words of course  ) I really enjoyed reading this.

"love can make you feel
it wasnt worth the trip
a waste of precious time"

Smiles for this. Reminded me of one my favorites poet/songwriters, Bob Dylan:

"I ain't sayin' you treated me unkind.
You could have done better, but I don't mind.
You just sorta wasted up my precious time.
But don't think twice, it's all right."

And good morning to you, Victoria! Thank you
for the smile on my face!

Sometimes its better not to look back - but when it creates such poetry - I must say I'm glad you did!

Very nice and intelligent poetry here....I feel that sometimes it's worth the trip and sometimes it ain't but there's someone for everybody so I guess we have to keep trying!

I guess in the end if you don't take the trip you won't be able reach your destination!

Love is an adventure...like snow skiing or scuba diving...if you make it back in one piece you are happy if you fall and break your leg you wonder if its worth it or if you get the bends you suffer the consequences...enjoy yourself but beware of the hazards...James

This is a thoughtful read and a wonderful write....good expression of how things are...but I believe it's worth the trip, no matter how it turns out in the end

Victoria...

mmmmm, what a romantic piece, especially loved this part:

"they say love is blind
why  would one jump
from a parachute
made of wishes?"

So well penned and full of meaning...
