If I Were...... Would You?

If I were the ocean, would you be the wave on my sea
Would you make the tides swell and surge against me
If I were the sky would you be the birds soaring high
Would you fly through me causing me to softly sigh
If I were the rain would you let me soak right into you
Never saying I've had more than enough or that'll do

If I were a flower would you bury your nose in my scent
Would you pluck me and say that from heaven I was sent
If I were a star would you know my light and wish on me
Would you be able to pick me out and say that is she
If I were the night would you deny yourself the light of day
Wrap my darkness around you and in the night always stay

If I were a touch would you savour the feeling and thrill
Would you hold me within you, would I sap your very will
If I were your heart would I make you pine and then ache
Would you do anything, would you all those others forsake
If I were a page would you fill me with your beauteous words
Would you read me aloud with your voice make me heard

If I were anything, what would I really wish myself to be
If I could be absolutely anything I wanted, then I'd be me
I can touch your heart making you smile and then sigh
I can fly with you through the rainbow that paints the sky
I'm filled with love that flows through me and into you
I'm hope, love, passion and fire, you are me and I am true

I just found this websight tonight. I've spent two hours reading poems.. and just recently found these forums. This was the first thread I read.. and although I don't know you.. I must say I thoroughly enjoyed this poem. It brought tears to my eyes, but then again I'm such a sap   I look forward to reading more of your poetry.

As for me, bleh.. I've never been a writer... I wrote my first piece tonight.. being inspired by my dearest boyfriend Craig. (He doesn't even know he inspired me.. sssh!) I will spare you from reading my first poem.. come to think of it.. I don't know if I'll get brave enough to even write more.. I do look forward to reading more of yours though. That was very beautiful.

Best of luck to you all.

Cassandra, welcome to Passions, I can guarentee, you will be writing and posting your poems here. When any of us come here, we all feel that we will never be brave enough or good enough to write. (I am never confident in my poems, or if I am I always know that I could have done better.) If you love, and you have been inspired once you will again. If I can give you any advice it is read the poems here at Passions. You will find love and hope here, and enjoy yourself.
Once again welcome and if you need a hand or a friend you will find many here, and every single one of them are wonderful.
And thank you so very much.

Take care

You know, once in awhile a diamond just falls into your lap when you least expect it and this one was a downpour my friend.  This was lovely from the beginning to end and I am here to applaud you with all my might.  Most definitely your most amazing piece.  Now share this one with the office and I bet you find yourself getting not only their praise and admiration but most their smiles all day as well.

Mark my sweetest friend, that is a compliment that far outweighs my talent, and I dare not think that I deserve it. (Knowing that I do not) Although this one I do indeed like, but.... and it's the buts that get me time after time. Still I shall keep trying to meet my ideal, and then when and if I ever do, I shall be pleased. I will put this on the wall, where I can guarentee, either Sues or Daphy will rip it down with an outraged look. And if and when they mention it I shall show them your comment, and then await my poisened chalice. (Or more likely a stilleto in my back) And I shall blame you if I wake up dead.
Thank you love, you know I really and truly mean it.

Kari love, what? I didn't do anything at all. Truly love. Actually after I had stunned all of my sisters, I'm in such a high that my natural exuberance just bubbles over. I bet you wouldn't have sighed and say, why are you wearing that? You'd think after all this time they would learn to just keep quiet, wouldn't you? Well if they were thinking instead of reacting they would, but they never learn, not ever.
I'm glad you like it. No love you want someone on there who can inspire, and there's bound to be loads far better than me. Besides, you do a splendid job love.
Take care

P T, Thank you love, I'm pleased you think so.

And if you were a doctor would I what, chop you off at the knees   let you operate on me? Now is that likely, knowing how I feel about those slippery little customers. I would misdirect all your calls, tie up your private lines, and charge premium rates to your pagers. And if you really upset me, I would book you in as a pratice session patient, and let the tainees loose on you. (And you thought I'd say something else   )
What a good thing you aren't a doctor love,
Really glad you liked this

Take care
