Imagination Often we must weep, for we are human. I will not refuse you a tear. As long as I am mortal I will feel pain. My tears gush forth to run into quiet waters. My eyes contain the fountain for those tears. Sorrow unlocks them from her balmy mood; yet, they refresh the fever of my soul: the dry misery which parches my continence into furrows. Let them pass over me as the whisper of the vernal wind over the desert; for I have touched the brink of rapture in your arms and your smile will remain reflected by memory, as the moon reflects light upon me when the sun has gone from the heavens. If ever I could create the image of beauty in my mind, it would have your face. You are a jewel in the sky, sparkling in your constellation, forever bringing beauty to my eyes. I sing amongst the hushes of the wind as it dries the tears from my face and the starry orbs lapsing about in their smooth and sparkling dance, will sing to me. I hear not your voice with my ears or see your face with my sight; yet, you exist and your memory touches me deeper then any touch could ever make me feel. Yes, I am mortal and the pain of your absence only fills my mind with imagination, while the poet in me brings forth color from heaven and puts sentiment upon every sight and sound; so my tears form the ink that flows from my soul to the parchment I hold. My words, a reflection of my imagination and the idea of you brings pleasure to that imagination. If a dream touches us, it exists to us as anything else which touches us. |

JohnR~ I found this an engaging write. Particularly fond of this thought - 'I will not refuse you a tear.' My kind of thinking - exactly. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

John beautiful words, Tears do refresh and give joy to the soul. It's like a storm, once it is gone the calm, and then the sunshine bursting through the clouds. Tears do have a way of renewing our souls. |
