(Years ago a great song: “Be Careful it’s My Heart” was popular – part of the movie “Holiday Inn”. It was the seed for the poem below) I stand tall and strong and free Living as I want to be You see my skin and think it thick Not consumed like candle wick I don’t reveal the heart inside How fragile when I let outside And give to you for you to hold Wondering how I got so bold So there it’s beating in your hand Pulsing with a love so grand How you treat it, yours to decide Yours alone whate’er betide Yours with all the trust that’s in me Begging for what love you’ll give me Feel its warmth, know I go with it No longer hiding behind a privet Your heart I’ve felt within your word Not daring hope my love be heard But out I poured the love I feel Now at your feet I humbly kneel I trust in fate, I trust in you Believe that time will prove love true So take my heart and hold it near For you’re the one I hold most dear There are places inside our souls - that have never been touched. Karilea- My forum love must remain anon - to the others - and I sometimes suspect to herself - (I think she knows). I do not want her subjected to what I think would be unwanted e-mails or rejection etc - Moreover - My poetry - from my heart - I feel certain she understands my taking poetic liscence.
