Private Eyes Day was dreary, even more so Than the nights before, as once more, snow Flakes of information, cooled the heat Of a mind bewildered, amassed in defeat Motorized body, prepared for breakdown Traveled a bit, mapped out the town Scrutinized words, released without ease Private thoughts, feeling each "squeeze" Answers forthcoming, solutions, don't bet Events unfurling, odds to forget Delving the deep, insane, the unknown These eyes see privately, memories sown Old ones tarnished, boxed, packed away New ones to lighten each day ahead gray Unraveling, seeps, pores empty their plight Dispensing "what ifs", losing the fight Cramping begins, tightness that screams Unbending, yearning, relief, even seems A day away ever, not to be within reach Floundering presents, boxed words filled with "preach" Too many, too often, unyielding, each one Eyes once so private, closed now to none. ~Wynter "The worst prison would be a closed heart". ...Pope John Paul II |
