I love art but I'm no painter
Yet it is you I want to paint
I must do it alone with words
My words must be up to the task
Like the songs of all of the birds
To a subject beyond the word vast

With acrylics or oils I would not
Watercolors would surely fail me
For they fade in the sun so fast
No such media would I use
No paint surreal or abstract.
They all lack rich enough hues

And no I could not sculpt you,
Despite my strong desire
To be accurate with Braille touch
I would my hands molding the clay
But the small range of color is such
It could not be there any day

No camera either shall I use
Although I've mastered many
Colors may be faithful and true
Pictures freeze but instants in time
But they could not show your depth
Sure to miss good looks sublime

Yea what I want to capture most
More timeless than the pyramids
Or nature’s rainbow friezes
So evolved in matchless beauty
As roses through their cycle
Thus it's much more than a duty

Oh I will rely on words alone
They will be my sole media
Words with all their limitations
Pray my words to you will convey
Through myriad interpretations
Out loud phrases I can’t say

My love for my subject shall be
All the depths and passions of you
Though sufficient words are so few
All that you are and you do
Your human nature so true
The warmth your heart does imbue

The boundless love in your soul
All you convey with your smile
The laughter that leaps from your eyes
All these with my words I would say
Sound of love I hear in your sighs
They sustain me day after day

How you have captured me totally

Time is too slow for those who wait,
too swift for those who fear,
too long for those who grieve,
too short for those who rejoice,
but for those who love,
time is eternity.

Sir Poet Bill* What a beautiful work of art
this is...your poetry often touches my heart
but this one swept me off my feet...the love
that you weave into your words is by far the
finest I've seen...Such power is held in the
poetry of your soul~

Wil,
they say a picture is worth a thousand words... they're wrong. Loved the way this swept over me and took my breath away.
Write on

Your muse has guided your quill most gently and with absolute grace throughout the weave of this most delightly piece...

and I am so appreciative for the opportunity to have read it...

thank you...

my oh my ..this is so well done...
so well thought out and written out...
from conception to completion ...the process is poetic perfection...

"To be accurate with Braille touch"

what a way cool line that is ...
as is this jewel of a verse...

"Yea what I want to capture most

To paraphrase my good friend Kehtry, you could say that a thousand words are worth this picture. . .

Excellent sir. . .

Wilfred, this is breath-taking! Though many artforms may capture subtle nuances of the subject ... your words have truly captured more than any one medium could. Beautifully written!

Best wishes,
/Kit

BRAVO! to this wonderful poem
You made me see poetry in a new light.
It's true, there is a certain depth that a painting can't capture and poetry is that aesthetic form that can say anything.
This is a beautifully expressed love poem

Elizabeth -
Each Morning as I sign into my e-mail, then go to PiP; it is you who brightens my day with such words to boost my ego, resuscitate my muse, that I must find adequate words to thank you.
I cannot do that in a reply - so today I will begin to craft a special poem to thank you. I only hope I can make a partial inroad into describing you, your poetry and my immense appreciation.
