The craziest thing I ever heard Was you saying you loved me The stupidest thing I ever believed Was that I was your only The biggest mistake I've ever made Was lying in your arms The love you give me is just an afterthought To the betrayal that you've shown me If you could, I know you would But you're too much of a coward You know you should but you're Too blinded by your pride You taught me the meaning of shame And you treated me just the same As the losers that came before you I lost myself there for awhile I lost myself in you But now I'm back in control of the Emotions I let run free Never again will you know me Like you knew me Never again will I let you Hold me like you held me I know the truth in your embrace It's a bitter pill to swallow But swallow I will and maybe one day I can fix what is now so hollow And have faith in tomorrow- The night is my companion The solitude my guide Would I spend forever here And not be satisfied? Some lessons in life are very bitter. You've expressed that very well, Leslie! Denise |
