We apologize for the inconvenience of free speech; we're doing what we can to change that. God should only exist between the pages of a book and our combined total of suffering. It's blasphemous to think pleasure and joy are god-given gifts to use wisely. It makes people angry when I give no answers to the questions I pose -- they despise me. So fashion me for martyr nails, make me a symbol of a piece of the truth. Or blow me apart with the ired gun, fired to remove what's beyond you. I kneel here before you, good people assembled, and cry only the realest tears of sorrow. I'm going to learn how to censor my dreams. I'll get back to you with them tomorrow. If they're a little flat and boring, a little cliched, then maybe I'll be a good person, too. You see, having thoughts is one thing -- sharing them is another. Ha. The joke's on you. I may not always understand your poems, but I would rather read your uncensored dreams. Free speech is for you as it should be. Keep writing! |

inot28, Thank you. My, aren't we naive? I'm glad you read, though. Mike [This message has been edited by bsquirrel (edited 12-10-2000).] |

S'en, thanks. SEA, also thanks. i...2B, nah, it's nothing to do with how you read the poem. In fact, I'm glad you read it. It's what inspired this poem that made me quip "My, aren't you naive?" But I'm already sick of the story. Mike |
