A Reason for Rhyme Virginia Salter wheat fields stand limp in the morning blanket of dew spiders nestle in their self-made trestles cocoons hang from twigs and branches exposed as leaves tumble to their winter beds frosty kisses glisten atop geranium leaves like sugar-coated dressings autumn-painted blessings grace early morning hours as waves of shadow and light dance in sun’s glow six to hundred-legged creatures creep and crawl between the features of the land caressed with time zero to four-limbed beings burrow deep into the seams of soil and of dreams a season to season a reason for rhyme © October 7, 2000 |

VAS~ This is an intricate webbing of phrase~ Most delightful to me was ~ 'spiders nestle in their self-made trestles' Most enjoyable. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

Virginia...do we reside next door to each other? for I have seen this picture often, but have failed to put it to word as you have...well done! Karilea If I whisper, will you listen?... I would rather be silent and write, than speak loudly and be bound. KRJ |
