get yer eyes < !signature-->up and open child it's time to rise 'n shine back in '49 when I wasn’t even a year old kid sitting in my fenced in crib and the months had turned to Missouri’s frosty gray wipe the sleep from yer eyes there youngster was all they had to say it was some time later they told & sold my folks on the idera buy yer son some glasses he ought to look up and see the sky instead I heard the tune of rolling thunder as I was shown the dirt I missed while mopin’ floors there under my dad said there's no time to wonder kid and wipe those tears out yer eye son do you chores you’ve got to much time on yer hands oh how I'd love to make time o’er again make it simple make it plain forget about sorrow forget about reasons forget about rhymes forget about pains clean yer glasses son it's time to get in line remind me once again how to borrow money you got some hills to climb so I cleaned my glasses and found it was time to hit the road head for the border leave fer Idaho we can live life o'er there again and times like this will end the rains again will turn to snow and we’ll know why with glasses clean it was high time we had to fly and go . Writing isn't just something I do, it's something I am. To write of feelings that touch all hearts in some manner is my delight. -Marge Tindal [This message has been edited by lucky (edited 12-08-2000).] |

Lucky~ Sometimes your remember takes me on a sad journey ~ 'oh how I'd love to make time o’er again make it simple make it plain forget about sorrow forget about reasons forget about rhymes forget about pains' And then you weave your way through it with such grace and style that I marvel at the man you are ... *Hugs* ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ noles1@totcon.com |

Dale--Sometimes it seems it would be nice to clean all the hurt from the past...wipe it off and start fresh, but I think all that lint and stuff taught a lesson or two, cause you are you now...and wonderful! |

Dale I love you. This is beautiful. Please let it stay here for people to enjoy. No one can say things like you can ... The spiritual wind that holds survivors aloft, plants the seeds from which bloom new hope ... R.J.G. |

lucky- I just don't have the words to express how this touched me... I always enjoy reading your writings, and this one is no exception... You have been through so much in your life, and all I can do is send you hugs and wish you happiness.. ~vicky "...until you have read the verse on his heart, you have not truely met the poet." -vlraynes |

You tell a story like no other! Thank you for leaving it in. I feel the pain in your writing; I see the pictures you paint so clearly, and with such haunting poignancy. I love this poem especially well. You have survived much ... With deepest love, your wife |

I had been reading some of my older stuff when I came up with this one... I know I don't have much of a following here but I wanted to say thank you for your comments and taking the time... You've certianly touched my heart... dale... and for you who didn't get the chance here's the other... Laced lullabies So the old familiar lullabies have passed on “hush little rock-a-bye baby” like so many others soft & engaging how life’s flown in breathtaking songs cute vanished lines ever drifting on working through rough poetic times my daughter intensely anticipating from over my shoulder seems waiting with all her charm I turn look deep into her eyes and sprightly say “my such pretty eyes today” without a flinch & still glued to the screen tells me without glimmer of thinking “I was born with them daddy" so I went a fishing and asking said “what do you think of these” with not a thought of dread she looked curiously long into my serious eyes with innocent laced puzzled lines then snickering with grace she colorfully said “Dirty glasses dad” * * * [This message has been edited by lucky (edited 12-09-2000).] |

Your words are always truly a creation to read and behold What lies behind us and lies before us are small matters compaired to what lies within us. [url] http://www.angelfire.com/pa/OriginalMinds/index.html |
