unfrozen chill of morn born on gray-clad sky, glazing earth in blanket’s cling rumbles intrude solitude day commences history © December 7, 2000 Virginia Salter the dictionary only gave: 5 line poem with 1st and 3rd lines having 5 syllable and the rest 7 syl. somehow, because of definitions of haiku and senyru, I suspicion that the count definitions are only a tiny part of the description of tanka |

ditto SEA, the expression is more important and i love the way you weave your words together... earth in blanket's cling...how i wish i had thought of that! keep writing |

Thank you both. And kaile, I often see cloud cover, after weeks of it anyway, as one of gloom. Right now this doesn't seem like a gloomy day and I was also trying to think more positively. There's enough happening right now that could make me gloomy but I don't want to be...IT'S ALMOST CHRISTMAS after all. Not shouting at you, just trying to make sure I hear it myself. ;o} As far as keeping on writing...I often tell people "I have the curse of the verse." I also tell them I call myself poetlariat because I try to rope people into reading my poetry. ;o} That's supposed to be funny btw. SEA, you are very sweet with your words, thank you! |

VAS, The count is, indeed, not the only thing, but only a frame upon which to display an inner beauty. Thank you for showing us yourself. INclan |
