In field abandoned rests the plow as consternation knits the brow in emptiness the fallows lay expectantly another day Awaiting seed spared by the frost that came too soon at such a cost no coin the hand has ever weighed shall likely seem an equal trade The barren spanse reflects the page that mocks the hand slow to engage the pen with roots bound to the heart in stasis now a world apart A harvest stilled outward appears grown cold neglect has seized the gears that spun it seemed effortlessly gone silent now save for this plea For warmth returned unto the field that frozen grip may loose and yeild as yet the crop the fallows seek grown empty lo' these many weeks Awaits the thaw impassioned flesh machinery to grind and thresh and to a purpose sown of need grist that on which the soul may feed Impatience grasps abandoned plow Hell-bent to till the here and now |

You write very much like a favorite poet of mine in here... very similar style and gift jm< !signature--> I looked into the sky for my anthem The words and music came through But words and music can never touch the beauty that I've seen Looking into you [This message has been edited by Janet Marie (edited 12-07-2000).] |

Yes Doc, you have been away too long! You are among my favorite writers at passions and I've missed you. I loved the easy flow and meter of this piece, and metaphorically? whew...outstanding. You always make me think. Thank you...er--got any more in there? |
