(I am reposting this because that is just the way the moon was last night, again...and I couldn't write it better)

This Slivered Moon

I could see the slivered moon
in the western sky resplendent
and in the shadow thus displayed
reverence spoke as purple iris
knelt together petals folded
and behind them in the bower
sunflowers bowed like dolls with yellow hair
tired from sunlight’s hold on watching.

And then the magic evening breezes
touched the sage and released such magic
frog voices spilled from off the mountains
across the canyon’s echoed chamber
and stillness folded in my vision
and brought me too complete delighting
quenched the hunger of my spirit
touched my moonlit face beguiling.

Oh slivered moon with shadowed light
dream me perfect in your drenching
breeze this spirit with this loving
touch of magic moving heaven
beguile my skin to soft with light
engorge my sleep with fragrant dream
keep me in your quiet watch
as day succumbs to nighttime’s peace.

In the dew of little things,
the heart finds its morning
and is refreshed.
(ee cummings)

To see the world in your eyes is to see a taste of heaven in every breath.  I normally save yours for last so that I can dream sweet dreams but I am sure I will be coming back anyway to this one.  I love your vision and your softness with words.  My favorite poet for sure and with all the talent in here that is not an easy task my friend.

Would that I had your depth of vision - and the silvered words to pen them half so well -
This could not be improved upon - it is how it is: most beautiful

Yes, I do believe Ron should just create a "Repost In Forum #__" so all we have to do is "click" our perfections forward...

Martie, I continue to aspire to write such as you do...

Martie~
Well, you know by now that it's one of my favorites of yours
(like that's a LARGE order to fill)

This one hangs on my phases-of-the-moon wall
and reminds me of you constantly.
Love you - love your poetry !

Mark--this reply pleases me so much...thank you for being so you.

Bill--You do have the words--your own words.
Thanks for being so sweet!

Karilea--that would be a great idea...and what a wonderful thing to say...I think maybe it should be the other way around.

Janet--If you think of me in the slivered moon then you have made me happy...thanks

Krista--thanks for always being so supportive and saying such sweet things.

Marge--I know how much you liked this one...it is my Marge poem, along with the one about the old desk.

I don't know how I missed this beautiful poem Martie, but I am so glad that I found it

Absolutely wonderous my dear
