With a plump downy pillow tucked under his arm, And the flap of his jammies down, His little feet stomped up carpeted stairs, Though he tried, there was not a sound. Two minutes later, he was bounding back down, "Just one more commercial...pleeeeeth????" I gave him a look before I stood up, And he flew up the stairs like a breeze. "Mom, there ith thomething under my bed" Screamed down the frightened boy's voice, He was going to wake up his brother, So I went up the stairs....no choice. He knew I wasn't too happy, As I got down and looked under his bed, Two glowing eyes were staring back, They were big and shining bright red. So I stood up a wee bit shaken, And scooped up this scared little boy, Ran out of the room and closed the door, Pretty sure it was just an old toy. I put him in my bed and turned on TV, Now I'd go and conquer this beast, Slipping back into the little guy's room, Head pounding, my heart rate increased. I could see the light now without getting down, A weird glow spreading under the bed, Crossing the carpet it neared my barefeet, Then I heard a small voice in my head. A familiar little giggle, His little brother's laugh, Playing with those glowsticks, Unafraid of his dear mother's wrath. Once back in sinus rythym, I asked him to please come with me, As he peeked out and saw my face, He chose that moment to flee. By the button on his back door flap, I caught this running child, Surprised, not thinking me that quick, He gave an innocent smile. Back to his bed, I tucked him in Kissed him and said "go to sleep." Rubbing his sleepy little eyes, He was off with nary a peep. I went back to my room for the other one, He was lying back like a big cheese, Thinking he'd won, watching TV, He said "one more commercial...pleeeeeeth! Kit, Balladeer, Ethan & Marge, Thanks you all so much for reading and for your kind replies, little scamps they were, now they're 22 and 24, but scamps none the less. Thanks again, Bonnie |

Let me see, it had to be Scott under the bed, Josh is too smart to be so easily fooled. Am I right? |
