Consider it a blessing in disguise When burning trials loom at every turn For lessons learned through fire make us wise And character’s refined if we don’t spurn The crucible that is a part of life. No soul is spared from heartache’s bitter brew; Drink deep the cup of agony and strife For it will fortify and give to you A new appreciation of the joy That’s often overlooked when skies are clear. The testing you endure can be employed To shed a ray of light in darkest fear. A priceless gift to others you can give Emerging undefiled from sorrow’s sieve. |

As long as we LEARN from the pains and trials then we are so much better for it. It is when we don't that make life so unbearable. Wonderful write. Loved it. |

Denise, Mistakes are easy to make hard to forget, even harder to laugh about and sometimes seemingly impossible to learn from but it is important that we do learn or we will get burned again and again. Wonderfully written piece. "an afixiation a fix on anything the line of life the limb of a tree the hands of he and the promise that s/he is blessed among women". Patti Smith |

Thank you, Mark, Rex, Brian and Elizabeth for reading and for your lovely replies. Sometimes it seems the only redeeming value in our suffering is that others are inspired in some way by the way we handle it. Maybe that's enough of a purpose. Thanks again! Denise |

Denise, you have hit the nail on the head here. Maybe not all of my experiences have been pleasant ones or fun times, but they have made me who I am, and I am grateful for that. Wise words here.
