A Quiet Revelation Amy M. Kennedy Sitting quietly in the dark She looks up at the silent moon Pondering over the day's events Hoping the pain she feels will be over soon The quiet sounds of night Comfort her and help to ease the pain And then as if on cue Starts the slow drizzling of rain Raindrops fall on hair And run down the side of her face She lets the tears fall from her eyes Usually she is happier, but today is not that case The stars twinkle back at her As she deeply sighs A million thoughts come to suface More questions than answers, so many whys A small smile comes across her lips As thoughts of her love come to mind But then she goes back to crying For what seems like the hundreth time She wonders why love has to be so complex And why for once she can't get it right Wondering how much more a person Can hold on and fight She looks up at the skies As they become colorful and bright And she hears the voice of HIM Saying believe in me, never let me out of your sight She does believe Believes with all her heart That he will lead her from this pain Into his celestrial light and out of the dark "The head learns knew things, but the heart forever more practices old experiences" |
