It’s Open Mic Night shadows gather in present form of coated souls keeping warm crisp fall night falling bright all will gather in love of write it’s open mic night timid souls become bold strike alive poetry thrives just to hear words of hope gets them by helps them cope it’s open mic night some find voice some by choice do not speak in content peek into the words they’ve just heard a common thread all which led to open mic night I see you there beyond compare words glisten all listen thunderous tone bellows “alone!” and we leave for our homes it was open mic night Karilea If I whisper, will you listen?... I would rather be silent and write, than speak loudly and be bound. KRJ |

Ah, those nights! Crowd alive, poets fiddling with their papers waiting for their turn at glory, nervous tics appearing out of nowhere, frogs showing up in throats at the oddest time and then the walk to the microphone and the first word is forced from dry throat and then......pure joy seeing smiles and approval on the audience faces, feeling the power of the written word, gathering speed, confidence and momentum, not stopping until the final words die out and you stand there, basking in the glow of loud applause as the world automatically transforms itself into heaven on earth.....and you feel worth and acceptance. I LOVE open Mike nights!!  |

Sunshine, I love this poem and I love open mic nights....man I wanna tellyou all about my first and only open mic night but it's too lone and I guess that I'll have to transfer it in a poem......but thanks for writing this....great imagery, and great piece! Nathan |

Is that what I think it is Sunshine? This poem was very well put together and smooth right down through those short but informative lines...nicely done! You are a master at changing your styles to suit the ideas and content...ethome I'm only guessing ...open mic night...but I think I know....... |
