SORROW
Virginia Salter

sorrow
falls like frost-bitten
daisy petals
upon my cheeks
clinging to salty tears
wrapping up the years
in sadness of profound degree

what is to be with me?
what will be the words
that will lift me
that will cling to me
with a gladness
that transcends
all that life and death would give

then reaches
reaches for the seeds
that wriggle into enriched soil
prepared for growth
readied for beauty
bringing a sprout
to rise

SEA,

You are very sweet to say such a thing, but if we all wrote the same, it would be dull, lifeless, without freshness or imagination.

You are doing very well with haiku.  What others styles have you tried?  I don't do a lot of 'form' poetry, mainly because the parameters are often daunting.

VAS~ I have no idea, I'm learning as I go, I never realized the different types of poetry had names and rules.....I just have always wrote from my heart. So, I dunno   Guess I'll keep learning. I like that   -SEA

VAS~

Sometimes sorrow is so delicately spun -
I believe this piece has that delicacy~

I have to agree with Marge...this poem is very delicately predicting hope over sorrow ... one of the main reasons for poetry is to express these heartfelt thoughts.....welcome to Passions....ethome....

Thank you all!!!  It's been so much fun already, being here.  In fact, I've had to force myself away to get at least a tiny amount of my 'chores' completed.

This certainly is an active, talented group of poets!
