Somewhere
deep inside me
divorced from the everyday
there's a dam of emotions
secluded
castrated
untouchable

the surface
reflects nothing
reveals nothing
is placid
calm
unbroken until...

a word, a deed, a view
shatters the dam
triggers the slip
moves the boundaries

and thereupon
poetry gushes forth
erupting
spewing
cascading

spectators passing
gaze in wonder at
beauty
abounding
a cornucopia of bliss

it then withdraws
to the secret place
silent
stilled
stifled

and so do I...

Well I'm glad that you let the dam break here at passions and let your feelings go because I for one enjoy the mental vision I am painting of "a cornucopia of bliss" and think that I'd like to hear of you in that state as often as possible...wonderful little gem this poem!!...take care...ethome....

Kethry,

This was a beautiful piece my friend.  May the words and thoughts always flow freely from your fountain.

Thanks everyone, given that my poetry is as old as me I think this poetic fountain must contain the elixer of youth for I always feel younger after writing. Maybe that's because i cry like a baby everytime one of my poems leave.

Balladeer. "Gushing out in gimlets?" Are you saying I'm boring or screwed? Either way *laughs.*
Be well everybody
