How do I know? What do I dare believe? Truth stares me down yet I turn a blind eye, want not to see what I want not to know; ignorant bliss cloak ‘neath which I cower, protecting heart from arrow’s trusty aim, concealing self from the touch of love true. Thought hidden yet seen by love’s piercing gaze, heart quaking with fear of that which could be- of standing before him naked, soul bared; tremble with terror when think of eye touch, of his fingers on flesh stroking soft hard and of whispers breathed sweet relaxing me. Must not allow it! Must halt these thoughts now! His expressions not meant, mere words he spoke… Yes! That is it! He was feeding me lines, his heart could not write those speeches so sweet, nor shall he know how they melted my will, how close I’d come to surrendering all. |

Doesn't it always...every goodbye, every tear we shed, every hurt we suffer... Thank you, passing shadows... |

A sad heartfelt poem. it is a hard parting we sometimes must do. You expressed it well and hope things get better. And as you know time will heal, and you become wiser. Ron Tossing words like wishful coins into the deep well of an open heart. R. fox |

Conceding that this is not your first post, I must say, well done...and I will look for your first... so that I may bid you a Proper Welcome to Passions.... Karilea If I whisper, will you listen?... I would rather be silent and write, then speak loudly and be bound. KRJ |
