As the storm clouds gather
bringing rain to these blue skies
the joy of anticipation
is reflected in my eyes

The wind outside is blowing
a sharp bite to the air
as the rain approaches
I can almost feel it's dare

The rain taunts me
splashing to the ground
knowing I can't resist
that lovely Drip-Drop sound

Thunder laughs across the sky,
as I rush out to play
the rain kisses me in greeting,
just what I needed today!

~Hey you,...very neat piece here. There are only two ways I like the rain,...one, (at night) when it's super windy and I get to lay in bed listening to it all,...OR if it's super hot outside and I get to play in it. Yay. Loved this. *Peace.

Lady Sea, being in a place where winter presents no snow I gotta tell ya I learned to luv the rain too...

Something about the mist of rain or even the downpour against windowpanes...

Anyhow, enough said, I like your poem!

This was great. I loved this poem. Though I thought it was going to end in a different way. I thought it was going to be some sort of dare that the gloomy environment casted upon you and in the end you'd be attacked by thunder. Don't ask me why.....just how my mind words i guess.

great poem!

Sea, the rain is wonderful, such a calming effect on me...I love splashing in puddles, which usually is not appreciated by anyone close by...but what the heck...thats what puddles are for(and looking at the sky reflected through them). Love the feeling this poem brings.

SEA,
In the words of Creedance Clearwater Revival
"Who'll stop the rain", you gave such a beautiful reflection of the joy rain gives. Simply beautiful.

the rain kisses me in greeting,

the rain kisses me in greeting,

beautiful  words...I prefer the soft gentle kisses of winter white..but the rain is nice, too when not so heavy as it was here  yesterday and throughout the night. It does  have a cleansing effect.

thank you for sharing such wonderful words
