I lay  in the darkness last night
and I listened to you breathe,
I felt a steady beating heart
of the man in which I believe.

I laid there in the silence
closing my eyes I could see,
the love there in your eyes
the certain way you look at me.

Before drifting off to dream
I gently gave a kiss or two
I softly whispered in your ear
good night dear,  I love you.

And somewhere in the darkness
the silence heard us breathe,
and two hearts beat as one
for in this love they do believe.

one of the mny reasons i love reading your poetry - is that we often have identical thought - as with this one - you expressed our thoughts beautifully

I echo what ethome said.  Very calming read.  Absolutely beautiful!  Love it!

Gentle Spirit,
What a well written poem of love. The sleep must have been so deep.

Respond to my call and let the waves of my heart fill your life with the wonders of love
