Dusk falls upon the land
A time of peace is close at hand
The kingdom is calm tonight
Soldiers sleep weary from the fight
Their horses graze in the field
Darkness serves as their shield
~~
The castle stands strong and tall
Not one brick took a fall
Their prince closes his eyes
In his dream he hears a cry
It is from the fallen ones
Who gave their lives for their sons
~~
So they will have a future here
With no need to harbor fear
Living a life filled with harmony
By the calm waters of the sea
They will prosper in due time
Enjoying the years of their prime

Makes you kind of wonder if Clinton ever hears cries in his sleep.  Oh, sorry...I shouldn't be talking politics in here. *Grins*

The sweet guardians have been laid to rest -
it's our turn to stand the sentry.

My heart salutes them all.

Lovely write, dear lady.

Marge . . . True indeed my friend.  I salute them as well.  May they rest in peace.

ethome . . . Thank you for reading.

EagleOne . . . Thanks my friend.

James . . . A high compliment coming for one who knows.  Thanks.

Sudhir . . . Glad you enjoyed.

PLY . . . You are welcome.  And you should be very proud my friend.

Denise . . . We sure do, which is why we should be thankful and remember them.  It is the least we can do.  They died an honorable death for us all.  Thanks.
