This is the sequel to "Innisvaire" ~Innisvaire and Beyond~ As the sun doth fade into the fore coming night The traveling minstrel catches the dancer's eyes, still bright. He, not knowing in those eyes he's caught If she holds the answer that his heart has sought. For it seems good friends they've silently agreed to be, Which is certainly safer than a broken heart's misery. The best of friends, for sure, they have become, But the minstrel's heart sinks away like the setting sun. Wanting to love her with all he has inside, He soon realizes he can't continue along in her stride. From the traveling troupe he now decides to part. To leave the dancer, the only way to protect his heart. With sorrowful longing the minstrel now travels alone. Thinking maybe he just didn't make his feelings fully known. What else can he tell her? What else can he try and do? His heart not wanting this perfect dream to be through. On his lonely journey towards the grand city, which all hope to see The minstrel questions why he loves her to such degree. Is it her simple beauty, or has she cast some magical spell? What has she done to win him over, no one can assuredly tell. Still interested in her every action of every day, The minstrel follows the troupe from a distance not too far away. Peering through trees and shrubs to catch a glimpse of his dancer fair The minstrel ponders what he can possibly do to arrive with her at Innisvaire. With every moment he watches, his heart breaks even more. Wanting so much to take her by the hand and walk through that door, The door that was opened together by them. Hoping that their love would bloom as does the rose from the stem, But what can he do to make their love-flower begin to grow? The answer to this, his heart yearns to know. As the dancer travels in the dawn's morning beauty, There was also the minstrel doing his heart's sworn duty. With the troupe, the graceful dancer continually travels on As she occasionally wonders where her minstrel has gone. Gone away and on his own she knows he has become. Strong feelings for him in her heart, she truly has some, But just how strong the minstrel does not know. For he is hoping that soon to him she will show. The minstrel's bereaved heart, dying to be with her once more, From his hiding he now comes forth to settle this for sure. The minstrel comes upon his angelic dancer Inquiring about her heart, trying to find truth's answer. She truly agrees that a friend's heart they do share, Yet she is unsure that beyond friendship, their relationship can bear. "No matter what happens, I will forever love you unending. As a true friend or true love, the decision still pending. Depending on your own heart's view of me, And just what results there could possibly be. Asking of you this simple consideration Whilst I attempt to give my emotions validation. Trying to find truth in a world of confusion My heart reaches only one conclusion. Realizing that of you my heart is still fond. I'm hoping we can soon reach Innisvaire and Beyond." |

This is a absolutely beautiful story. I'm going to have to find the first part now! Abra "So often times it happens that we live our lives in chains And we never even know we have the key." -Already Gone, The Eagles |

I'm not sure where or what Innisvaire is, but I hope you make it there and beyond. This was an excellent poetic story. I often pass over the longer poems as I feel that I may not grasp the meaning, but this gem kept me interested all the way through. Again, this was an excellent poetic write. ![]() ![]() Garfield |
