Flannel lined jeans rolled up at the cuff,
Little work boots on his feet,
A baseball cap and a halo,
His outfit is almost complete.
A denim shirt and carhart coat,
With wings sticking out of the back,
A little leather tool belt,
And a lunch box he'd unpack.
After he finished his project,
A treehouse in the sky,
A haven for little cherubs,
Just learning how to fly.
A smile appeared on his rosebud mouth,
So glad he was almost done,
Just one last thing for him to do,
Then he could start having fun.
He got out a little piece of rope,
And lassoed the brightest star,
Hung it on the door frame,
Where it could be seen from afar.
So the newest little angels,
Would find this hand built nest,
Fly right in, curl up on a cloud,
And give their small wings a rest.
Finished he took off his little boots,
And wiggled his little toes,
Ate the lunch he'd saved all day,
Closed his eyes and started to doze.
But this nap didn't last too long,
As one little cherub, then more,
Found their way to his haven,
From the light he'd hung by his door.

OH MY HEAVENS!! Look what you've done!! Bonnie, this is the most adorable poem! Oh, if we could just find a little Ron angel with his little wings poking out and the sign reading "PASSIONS", hung on the door;(or would that be Ms.PoetDV with the rope, at some point we know....?)giggle!   (WELL, this is MY interpretation, anyway).Only you would've thought to do this, what a gift of humor!  Loved it.

Bonnie, I will soon be talking to a group of third graders about poetry...may I take this one as an amply delightful messages chock full of adjectives?  They would love it!  I'm tucking it in my library, just in case you say "YES!"

And ya' just HAD to put -
'A little leather tool belt' on him !

Now Serenity will want to adopt him !

I guess, if I interpret correctly, that I am one of those litttle cherubs who saw the light and entered into this wonderful haven built by our web-master in baseball cap and halo... If interpreted correctly or not, I still enjoyed reading. Thank you. Bob <><
