Lost alone and scared Somewhere in this night No one to show me the way No one to draw the light A single tear drifts down my cheek As I watch you wave good-bye All I can see now is the red glare Of the tail lights of your car And then they just disappear So now I'm on my knees praying How could you just walk away Knowing I loved you so? As I walk this lonely path again I flashback to that night I remember the hate filled words you said Not knowing it would be our last fight Please know that I still love you No matter where you have gone I remember the next morning Waking up with the sun shining in my eyes You standing above me so radiant Wiping away the tears I'd cried Time just seemed to slip away As if it no longer mattered I brought you these pretty flowers I hope you like them they're all I could find Living here without you is hard I think I'm losing my mind I really didn't mean all those things I said to you that night I beg of you forgiveness For all my impatient ways For truth and understanding So I can live the rest of my days Knowing that you still love me Even from beneath that cold grey stone [This message has been edited by Jeffrey Carter (edited 09-27-2000).] |

Reading the first verse, I thought you were reading my mind. This is so sad. I wish you peace. |

Jeffrey~ This is very tenderly done. A very tender reminder to hold this night in soft spoken words ... as it may be someone's last. Thanks for sharing. Love ya' ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

Jeffrey, This was very intense and powerful my friend. Always let the last words you say be words of joy and not of anger for they be the last you speak or the last you hear. So true. Great writing. Lone Wolf Poetry should surprise by fine excess...it should strike the reader as a wording of his own highest thoughts and appear almost a remembrance. -J.Keats |
