A promise of man

See now, they gather!
Yearning, learning
Filled with hope,
Promise and desire
Our youth untainted!

See now, they gather!
Playing, dreaming
Filled with endless Vision
And impossible dreams
Our future, unrestrained!

See now, they gather!
Creating, building
Free thinking souls
Our future dwellers
Guardians of the human race

EagleOne~
Oh, what a fine tribute to the youth of the land.
Hope-promise-desire ... those are three terrific traits.
I've always been a youth supporter ...
they do have visions to behold.
With a little luck and a lot of dedication
they will make this place a better one.

Excellent Eagle. . . this shows that we hold the promise in our hands. . .

What will we pass on to them?  Makes you think. . .

very cool poem Eagle ...
I like the message you intend here ...
they indeed are the promise of the future
you poem reminded me of a verse from an old favorite Jackson Browne song.....
later-wise-down-under-gator

Some of them were dreamers, some of them were fools
Who were making plans and thinking of the future
With the energy of the innocent, they were gathering the tools
They would need to make their journey back to nature

While the sand slipped through the opening
And their hands reached for the golden ring
With their hearts they turned to each other's hearts for refuge
In the troubled years that came before the deluge

Before the Deluge
frome the cd Late From the Sky

Seriously, I've a son that's just becoming a young man, and anybody who knows me, knows how proud I am of him...this poem made me feel like that...I thank you, Eagle!!! (He's really a terrific kid, and next time you have a few hours, I'll tell ya about him!!!)

This carries in the lines a freedom almost like a butterfly lift! I thought it was inspirational.
