I do not know where this road leads Yet still I travel on My body weary filled with needs In my heart a sometimes song The road winds on through hills and dales A twisting, turning fright While roadside trees within those vales Stretch straight in sheer delight I've come too far to return To long to turn around Tumultuous thoughts and eyes that burn While seeking hallowed ground The road it twists as do my thoughts Mind's windmills lead to sighs A journey's end not what I sought The sky in compassion cries The road winds on, travel I must Though all my hope is gone All I can do is pray and trust The road will lead me safely home Growth demands a temporary surrender of security. None of us knows where our road will eventually lead, I guess that is part of the mystery of life. Great poem, Kethry! Denise |

Poems like this serve to remind me that there are indeed real people writing this poetry instead of just words on a screen. Your beauty and philosophy of life shine in this one and you are very real....I'm happy to know you. I believe that the destination is the reward of life but the true beauty is in the journey.....whereever it may lead. |

Kethry, I've come too far to return To long to turn around Tumultuous thoughts and eyes that burn While seeking hallowed ground What wonderful lines. You have written these so well. Sometimes we have to look forward no matter how much it hurts, for that is where the future lies. Here's to you finding your way home by way of a new path. ![]() Lone Wolf Poetry should surprise by fine excess...it should strike the reader as a wording of his own highest thoughts and appear almost a remembrance. -J.Keats |

Kethry: a lovely poem, just real, like Balladeer said. "When red-haired girls scamper like roses over the rain-green grass, and the sun drips honey."" Laurie Lee Kathleen |

Love the way it ends Kethry...real good writing...always home that's where the heart wants to be...the comfort of being where the love started and ends and the roots that tie you there....even the life long rambler at some point or other wants to end up in a place called home......great writing!! |

I love it! Knowing that you are too far into something to turn around, that life is a one way journey. You can look back, but you can never go back. The flow is wonderful and the subject, one of my favourites! Great poem! Trev. |

Kethry, sometimes home seems a long way off, even if we're "just round the corner". Amazingly we recognise "home" as soon as we arrive. Wonderful poem. Dee I wish you every happiness and pray you'll always have the best of the good things in life. a brand |

Home is always just around the corner it seems, and then the next, and the next ..."The road winds on, travel I must - Though all my hope is gone once we've let it slip away." But it always calls, all we truly have to do...is answer with our hearts, and it WILL appear. peaceful travels, my friend, jwesley |
