Fear of being near

The silence rocks me as a boat,
and I'm unsure how long I'll float.
I seek the joys of life and love,
but I am scared like a tiny dove.
As soon as someone comes real near,
I sprint away in real great fear.

I'm like an apple so fresh within
with a soft and tender, a fragile skin
So easy to breach for the hungry beasts
and there it burrows deep down and feasts
Eating away at my heart and soul
until I become a living ghoul

The silence rocks me as a boat
it is dipping and turning but still afloat
I still seek the joys of life and love
but for now I'll wait in my little cove
As soon as someone comes real near
I'll try to swallow my numbing fear

I think we all feel this way sometimes, this is a good expression of that feeling!

I fear the outside world but I have a love that I can depend on to take care of me.

the fear of the unknown, especially the unknown risks we take in loving someone can be an overpowering emotion. be strong, move forward. Ron

FlyHigh~
This little jewel was tucked away on the back pages -
I'm so glad I was browsing.

What a lovely thought.
Peeling that apple will let others enjoy the freshness within.

Fear can be a good thing at times...but not if it keeps you from reaching out and finding love...sure you are gonna get hurt...but when you find that one...that special one...all that past pain just drifts away like smoke on a summer breeze
