And Now It's Amber, Burnt But There

It's just your way,
to roll around these hills,
full of life
feeling weightless and falling,
freely, releasing, with me here,
in statue, concrete, or marble,
misled and misunderstood,
ten times the weight of life.

You travel, alone,
riding waves I've never seen,
and here I am drowning in sand
as coarse as the edge of the road,
in which I live life on,
hard and drying, sinking, trying,
it's all the same, you're alive
in ways I never understood,
and here I am lost in fields,
in days all tied in twos, tangled,
and tripping, while you smile
my time away.

And something new and so appealing
emerges, slipping the feeling
and all the hours we burned together
are ashing, they're blowing,
and it's strange in ways how
sometimes things just wilt,
without a directness that deserves
another's pain, it just happens, and
there you are, still rolling, smiling,
and I'm still here, in circles,
spinning, lost in the beginning
of all this, right next to you,
yet alone in more ways
than I've ever known, and each day
the sun shines for you and
you taste it alive, you swallow
my half,...and now it's amber,
burnt but there.

You, lady, just gave me goosebumps...begs to be read aloud.  This is fab. I loved the rhythm of this--

"hard and drying, sinking, trying
it's all the same, you're alive
in ways I never understood..."

AND...ya didn't stop there...grin...and I'm so glad...

"it's strange in ways
how things sometimes just wilt,
without a directness that deserves
another's pain, it just happens and
there you are, still rolling, smiling,
and I'm still here, in circles,
spinning, lost in the beginning..."

Blows me away.

Reminds me of a Neil Young quote, something he said after leaving a certain band abruptly...

"Ya ever notice that things that start spontaneously, end the same way?"

and that's all he wrote in that note.

Thank you lady, as you can tell, I enjoyed this one tremendously.

Fire,
mind blowing, I feel like I've been on an acid trip after reading this piece. Loved the juxtaposed images and the flow was magnificent.

WOW

And something new and so appealing
emerges, slipping the feeling
and all the hours we burned together
are ashing, they're blowing,
and it's strange in ways how
sometimes things just wilt,

Superb and speaking to my heart.
Thankyou for the read...

The wind shifts like this:
Like a human without illusions...
This is how the wind shifts:
Like a human, heavy and heavy,
Who does not care.

A - This... breathes, eeks... bleeds pain - I understand - that's it - and give you hugz in return for this trip inside your mind.
