Why does divorce
Cause so much pain
Everything falls apart
It's just insane

The kids are in the middle
And it's not fair
They had nothing to do with it
Yet they still care

They have mixed emotions
About us splitting
They won't hear the fighting
And glad it quitting

They want mom and dad
To live in the same place
How do I tell them it's not possible
When I look at their face

I tell them each and everyday
How much they mean to me
And that I'll always love them
And things will get better, just wait and see

Welcome, DJ! Sorry to hear that you are going through this. I agree with Sea--be honest, but don't be mean. Hope to see more from you.

It causes so much pain because it is way up their on the list of stressful events in our lives and our childrens lives...death, divorce, losing a job, all dramatic and emotional events that stretch our limitations to the max..and yes time does ease the stress and the pain..take care...James

Welcome to Passions.  I'm just sorry your debut poem has to be about such a sad subject, but you know everyone here is just wonderful in their support and encouragement! Hope to read more from you.

djs, e-cards...quite simple, and fun to share...see the rainbow leaf in the upper right corner of your screen when you click on to a poem?  That's what you click on to in order to send the e-cards!  Just click, the instructions are simple; have your friend's e-mail address ready, and get ready to be creative!  You will never tire of this function, believe me!
