“Lessons Learned”
***dedicated to Mom, my Guardian Angel***

Many lessons in life I’ve learned
First one…if you don’t watch out for the flame
You will get burned
How you want others to treat you, treat them the same

Say what you have to say today
Don’t wait until tomorrow
Make the best of life…come whatever may
And remember the times of good, let go of the times of sorrow

If you make a promise, make sure it’s one you can keep
Be true to who you are
It’s okay sometimes to break down and weep
Don’t be afraid to wish upon a star

Life is what you make of it… it’s all up to you
Everything happens for a reason
If you never give up faith, miracles can come true
And things are always changing, with the passing of the season

A friend is the most precious gift
Family and friends are more important than money or gold
Show someone you care, give them a lift
The most treasured people on this earth, is the old

Sunny skies are just around the corner or bend
Angels really do exist… they are all around
Meeting your soul mate can help your heart mend
Tears when they fall, even the most silent ones, do make a sound

It’s not whether you win or lose, its HOW you play the game
The man on the street is just the same as I
Take the time to ask him his name
Make the most of right now, before life passes on by

People come and people go
Sometimes the river of life is hard to understand and see
All things that happen shape who we are and help us to grow
Being with Passions and writing poetry has made me free.

Well, I couldn't just select one line, they were all wonderful.  This would make any mother proud!

Amy, this is so beautifully written packed with truth and honesty, and your soul shines through this love, it really does. You have learnt to:
'speak your truth quietly and clearly, and listen to others, even the dull and ignorant they too have their story.'
Your mothers are so proud of their daughter, their angel smiles, will always be with you.
I really love this one Amy it is soooooo gooood
Take care

this is an inspirational piece indeed. and thank you for sharing and reminding us, for sometimes these things we do forget in the hectic rush of everyday life. And congrats to mom for passing the wonderful trait of kindness to you.

Amy,
see this grin more bright than the moon
it's because you returned really soon
I missed your work and now that your back
I can start reading emotions I lack.
When writing the subjects that you do so well
I am reminded, why to passions I came to dwell.

Excellent, excellent verse.
Be well

Amy* This is the most beautiful of your
poems about your mother I think...it's so
hard to choose when they all come from your
heart and they are so finely woven with your
memories of her...hugs to you sweet
girl..your heart is touched with her love
and it glows~
