She'll call today

I told her she'd be OK
She said, that's what they all say.
I told her, I'd be back
She said forget it jack.

I told her I loved her still
She said now isn't that a thrill.
I told her what I said was true.
She said now isn't that a coup.

I said goodbye she did not cry
Nor did a tear appear her eye.
I turned away and heard a scream
And that's when I awoke the dream.

My hand shot out the telephone
I told her that I was alone
She said I'll be right over dear
Today it's only been a year.

...so sad Sy-guy ...

maybe she lost the number
maybe she lost her way
maybe she lost the address
went to the wrong house to play ...

I'll make your phone ding-a-ling
Ill make your bells and chimes ring
then I'll buzz your line
bring over a bottle of wine

her loss is my gain
maybe someday she will explain.

Man I hate it when that happens! Very good poem for delivering the truth about her petulant message. The point comes across very well and I like how it ends. If she calls you could say you were busy and that you'd just won a million dollars and had quite a busy schedule for at least the next forty years.
I don't know????.......take care......ethome

Even though, after reading this thread and finding that JanetMarie prefers another over me, I still like the poem...

Excellent write, and sad to still think so much of her after a year. Thats all I can look forward to, I guess.
Take care.

I'd say she forgot how to push those buttons, forgot your number, or she said she'd call in November, she just didn't say which November...James
