Clouds above the black water,
Calm on this crisp autumn day,
Frozen cattails and barren trees,
In the marsh at the edge of the bay.
Crystalline dusted lily pads,
Wilted reeds, now barely green,
Created a cold, stark entryway
To contrast this beautiful scene.
An ebony swan so graceful,
Introduced by two of pure white,
Coming out of their hideaway,
Gently gliding into the light.
As a whispering breeze came in,
The swan spread her wings wide,
Barely stirring the water,
As the others went to her side.
And I just stood in wonder,
At this unbelievable chance,
To see these magnificent creatures,
Do their delicate dance.

What a beautiful scene to experience. You painted it well--the first part made me think of a drear November day, and the swans sounded magical!
