She worked from dawn to dusk each day
But always found the time
To sit down by our sides and play
She read us tales most every day
She was the one who introduced me
To all my cherished friends
She taught me Poe, Jane Eyre, Thoreau
Asimov, Heinlen, Norton too
No fancy title she ever bore
Her rewards came in little things
From pudgy, sticky covered hands
And faces with milk mustache rings
She's still a shining example
Of all I'd want to be
Nothing will ever take the place
Of what she is to me
My Mom

A loving and beautiful tribute to your mom...she will love it. I certainly enjoyed it.

Thank you all so much   I just have to share this; I sent it to my mom and she wrote back that she read it; cried a while and wrote me an email (she lives in Iowa, while I live in Texas)..she said when you're 16 and you have a baby, you do the best you can..... well, we always did get and still do get her very best and that's pretty wonderful
