When the moon’s shining full, here on All Hallows Eve,
and the spirits are freed for the night…
A sound can be heard that you dare not believe…
Devils shreiking with utter delight…

All the corpses have risen with life of their own,
moving slowly, with no eyes to see…
There’s a rattle of what used to be flesh on bone…
walking into the night that will be…

On the banks of the water, a cauldron is stirred,
by the witches who gather this night…
The chanting and spells are not human in word,
as they conjure their unearthly fright…

Cast spells for the werewolves, who sing haunting tunes…
Listen close as it falls on your ear…
They will prowl in the darkness, only lit by the moon…
With a hunger that’s fed once a year…

Hear the creak of the coffins, as lids are thrown wide…
With the rising comes unhuman need…
And the Lord of the Vampires, with hosts by his side,
takes to wing, soon to quench bloody greed…

Witches cauldron is bubbling, as they gather their own…
Tens of thousands on sticks without wings…
Deathly silent, they wait, just as if it is known,
that the Master of Hell will now sing…

From the earth comes a roar, and an ear-splitting crack…
and hellfire lights up blackened sky…
There is no need to wonder, and there’s no turning back…
He appears in the blink of an eye…

He beckons his singers, and he beckons his band…
Some have faces familiar to most…
And the music begins with a wave of his hand…
He’s a most unforgettable host!

Close to midnight on earth, it is All Hallows Eve,
and the witches have taken no chance…
They have cast spells on humans…not to see or believe…
and tonight, only devils can dance…

If you listen real close, you can hear rattling bones,
and a howling that’s aimed at the moon…
All the vampires and witches are spinning around,
to a band playing Satan’s own tune…

The band is approaching the last final song,
putting everything back in a trance…
They will wait ‘til next All Hallows Eve comes along…
To attend Satan’s All-Devil Dance…

HAPPY HELLOWEEN!

Sunny1
great balls of fire you went and did it girl. A fiery poem for halloween, that was spellbinding to say the least..
Btw Q. Why didn't the skeleton go to the halloween dance?
A He had nobody to go with.
Q. Who did the zombie take to the dance?
A He took his ghoulfriend.

Be well

And everyone should have a dancing skeleton in their closet, don't you think?  This one likes it when I play phantom music on my keyboard!!   Thank you!!
