Once I Loved a Man Once I loved a man. There now is nothing That life can show me, That I haven't already seen, For I have lived, and died, And yet I live, for Once I loved a man. |

PoetsSister~ How simplistic in thought ... how deep it lays in the heart. I like it. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

PS, Wonderful poem. At elast you have known love in your lifetime. I bet you'll find it again. Welcome to Passions. LW Poetry should surprise by fine excess...it should strike the reader as a wording of his own highest thoughts and appear almost a remembrance. -J.Keats |

Sea - Thank you. Marge - Your comments are always so thoughtful. Thank you. Cerinity - I'm glad you were not disappointed. Lone Wolf - Yes, I have found it again. It's funny though how past loves are never completely in the past. Denise - Thanks. I hope I made my point with these few words. Thanks for reading. |

This reminds me so much of the opening of one of my favorite books "The Notebook" by Nicholas Sparks. He brings about the same point only in a much lengthy way. You've said a great deal in just 7 lines and I especially like the way you've repeated the first line only with a new meaning in the last line. As you know, I happen to be real fond of repeatition in poetry to bring added emphasis. Nicely done...me thinks perhaps I should be called the "Poet's Sister" |

this is a very cool poem perfect in its brevity and its presentation... this is definaltly a case of where less is more... you poetically summed it all up with these few well chosen and spoken words well done take care jm |
