The Night Unending

Unheard, my sighs into the night
as memory's touch trails, fingering
upon these shoulders, lunar white
alone in sorrow's lingering

For I have turned away from love
denied with heart full flowering
with blooms of wistful foxesglove
and velvet dewdrops showering

I cannot bear what day has borne
when once the mist, in scattering
reveals my failing, fragile form
awakened, torn and tattering

I pray the sun will not arise
that dark will stay descending
Alone but for my memory's cries
I plead the night unending

Soooo sad, Rainydays...turning away from love can truly make for a night unending.

The entire piece is deserving of praise, the concluding stanza reaching deep within the soul. Very much enjoyed!

Night sky blanketing my hidden heart
Starlit winks offering sheltered view
Tears of uneasiness left on stellar chart
With Luna's vision reminding me of you

Sunny dawn stretching across eastern sky
Dancing with tears in waltz of colored glow
Hold fast to the dreams in passionate eye
As darkness is blessed with midnight's rainbow

Mark, oh my how sweet your poetic response! Midnight's rainbow...what an imaginative man and masterful poet you are! So very nice to find this here ~ thank you!

Seymour, thank you kindly, and allow me to express the same sentiment after having read your own verse. Good work, indeed.

Vandana, thank you for your enthusiastic response! I like your little smiling guy.

Ron, to be told that one's words can be 'felt'...that brings such satisfaction. Thank you for reading close enough to feel them.

Thank you, Beth! I have so enjoyed my day reading such good poetry here. I was home all day while having some renovation work done (on a fireplace, not on me!) and have been able to come here to Passions several times. What a nice way to spend a homebound day! Take care, and thanks again!
