"Nocturne"

Eager earth
yields loamy, cool.
Inviting pull urges
small bare feet
forward, a promise
with fall of each step.

Cotton gown, white
illumined blue
in moon's light
skims sleeping
violets awake.
Dampened hem
laces delicately
between dawn
and night.

Oh! Thank you, Janet Marie, I didn't realize anyone had read this yet! I'm glad to know you enjoyed my little poem of pre~morning reverie this morning. (smiling)

Rainydays, your work is always so beautiful. Great way to desribe the morning. I could just imagine the mist sweeping over the land and settling as dew on the grass. Excellent work.

Kit, thank you very much. I'm glad you were able to feel the mood of this piece. It was a serene, though somewhat anticipatory aire that set me to writing it after a walk outside in the wee hours before light. (shhhhhh...don't tell anyone!)

Victoria, thank you for reading this one. I've had a full schedule lately and was away almost as suddenly as I found you folks, but am hoping to "stay" for a while longer this time. I am enjoying reading, so much!

Elizabeth, you definitely have a poet's vision. Thank you for your gracious response!

Ron, thank you. This particular scene was quite easy, as it was fresh in my mind. Thank you for reading it!

Breeze of soft morning dew
Residing on cheeks of you
Early rise to promised day
Heart full of words to say

Gown flowing of cotton white
Trail of wonders left in sight
Steps of visions touching earth
Giving heart's love a new birth

======================

Gotta tell you, I love your style of writing and the natural way in which you pen your heart.  Lovely verse yet "AGAIN" from you.  You have a true fan in me for sure.

Mark, my goodness! (smiling) Another tender, poetic response ... you are good! Thank you for reading this one closely enough to write this beautiful accompaniment. I am terribly  flattered!

Brian, thank you so much. I'm happy to know the serenity came through for you. Thank you for letting me know it.

Dee, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thank you very much!
