Sometimes when the hour is late
As the screen glows blue in darkened room
Typing on keys berating my fate
Longing for sleep, cursing the gloom

One small voice piercing the night
Awakening the phosphor could bring a smile
Turning the panel to one of bright white
Bringing me love, her soft words so beguile

If I keep my eyes open - will she appear
Or stay offline with her dog for her cheer
Leaving me lonely with feelings so drear
Do she know how she's needed - did I make it clear

I've never needed, never needed till now
Yet I need her this moment, I'll make her a vow
I'll always be hers - love till my dying ciao
Cherish her love, all that is mine to her endow

I know it's not just my loneliness talking
We both sparkle with life whenever we chat
Essential to us is a whole lot of hugging
We both feel a tingle - what's wrong with that?

Only seen pictures but they're not the story
Beauty can't be denied but the beauty inside
Counts more by far than her crowning glory
It's the spiritual her has me dewy-eyed

So those times when the hour is late
And the screen glows blue in darkened room
Typing on keys I simply wait
Longing for her, till she's in my room

Oh, I love this one!!! Really love it!!! I do so enjoy talking to a special friend, and it's always late at night, when the darkness is only lit by the screen.......
You write so wonderful!

This is a beautiful verse depicting romance of the times, via the net. But you truly can know somebody this way. If this poem is a true story, I hope she responds, she is a lucky lady

the wonder of words tie the heart in a binding grasp that no physical moment could ever endure. And that long anxious wait fulfilled by words appearing magically on the screen. I hope shes reading.I wish you the best.

beautiful things can be found in this blue screen...
and you have captured the longing and anticipation well ...
and me thinks ya write most all our hearts in here as well ...
we can touch and be touched as we type ...
love this sincere piece from you...

Hmmmmm... me thinks the blue screen has biten you my friend.  No wonder your crown has so many jewels in it. Superb piece from you, but aren't they all.  This is one of your best.

What's wrong with that, you ask? Absolutely nothing, my friend. I had never realized that feelings could travel through wires but they can...indeed they can....

Your words spring to life in that stirring  glow, Wilfred. Surely you will know the realness of her touch someday. I love this, thank you for seeing fit to share it.
