gave up trying to get to sleep after a while and wrote this.

I lay awake and toss and turn
Sleep eludes me yet again
There’s an empty spot next to me
A mirror of the one in my heart

Its waiting for you to fill it
With love and tenderness and warmth
And though this bed is not meant for two
Id gladly share it, and everything with you

Id hold you close, cradled in my arms
Id kiss you softly before you drift to sleep
And sing you sweet melodies
To ease you into your dreams

And with you next to me
Id close my eyes and sigh
Finally at peace again
Id join you in contented slumber

Even in the darkest night, someone will be there holding a candle for you.

As I sit here staring at my monitor, thinking I need to get to bed.......

This is so wonderful. It feels sad, but it feels soft and warm and snuggly too. I love it.   -SEA

Absolutely beautiful poem, Keith!  There are just certain people with whom we'd even share our beloved bed with!
Loved it!!

This is lovely; sometimes those beds that aren't meant for two are the very best kind to share

It's morning now, and after my sleepless night, I think I may be able to sleep a bit now...thank you, m'friend. Was a comforting verse to read after a restless night.

Very tender and lovely poem you have written.
A bit sad too, but I loved it just the same.

I think SEA said it best, this is sad, yet warm and snuggly at the same time.....missing the one you love gives you that kinda feeling, huh?  Great write my friend, I enjoyed!

This is excellent work...you show your
tenderness in every line and your desire to
share it all...there is nothing more
touching or beautiful than that~

So many sleepless nights we have. This is great, and I know the yearning for someone to snuggle with..
