As dusk ushered in All Hallow's Eve,
I walked slowly up the hill,
Just through the gate of the graveyard,
I felt a to the bone chill.
An eerie vapor covered the ground,
Seeming to encase my feet in gauze,
While at the same time, it reared up,
Like a phantom with evil claws.
Through shadows cast by a shrouded moon,
Sinister ghouls appeared,
Arms straight down as they trudged,
Eyes glowing red as they neared.
High pitched moans of misery,
Came from somewhere to my right,
Gnarled limbs of barren trees,
Seemed screaming out in fright.
Running was out of the question,
The mist held my ankles fast,
My feet cemented where they were,
I was afraid each breath was my last.
I closed my eyes as tight as I could,
Telling myself I had nothing to fear,
Covered my ears and started to sing,
So those moans I could no longer hear.
When finally I dared to open my eyes,
The mist 'round my feet was gone,
The ghouls were running away from me,
As they covered their ears to my song.
On shaky legs I ran out of there,
Racing home where there was no ghost,
While shutting the door I realized,
My singing really is worse than most!

LOL Bonnie! That wasn't QUITE the ending I was expecting! Maybe you and I should prepare a duet--that would really get those ghosts to leave us alone.

I was also reminded, when reading this, of last Halloween when my friends and I really did take a walk through the graveyard. Nothing happened though.

Elizabeth ~ Sounds like a plan to me, a duet, hmmmm, first time I've been asked!
Ron ~ They don't allow me to sing in the shower around here!!!
inot2B ~ Singing lessons...trust me, not a chance anyone would have invested $$$ in that...and I guess it is a good thing!
Marcy ~ Hehehehe....
Charisma ~ Love the graphic...and yes, I'm sure you would shut the door, as you should!
Marge ~ Corn season it is...and solo is the only way I sing....I guess they call it lip sync.....
vl ~ Glad you got a laugh....
Thank you all for reading, and for your great replies, it is truly appreciated... Bonnie

Good one! Now the singing can't really be that bad can it?
