Thirst  (revision of May '98 poem)

The full moon's light shown upon the fields
Shadows of wings crossed the dark land
In the distance a lonely church bell peeled
Shining black eyes the rich landscape scanned

In a deep dreamless way the lady did sleep
Under warm soft covers with subconscious unease
Erotic dreams in her mind then did creep
Sighing in sleep, she hoped he would please.

Landing softly to human form then with grace
Softly through the door he did grip
Glowing black eyes in his smooth pale face
Long fangs protruding from blood red lip.

Scents of lust drew him quickly to his prey
Gasped at her beauty soft on the pillow
Pale smooth skin, hair in sweet disarray
Neck waited his drinking, blood quick to billow.

Sucked slow of her life, in dream she released
Her moans decreasing as life flowed into him
He rose from her bed, feeling so pleased
He'd found now his partner, eternal and slim.

Waking her limp form, he smiled as he kissed her
She gasped as she saw him the man from her dream
Returning his kiss, love scenes passed in a blur
They flew to his castle over field and stream

Karilea- I know of her - but I've never read her   thank you

Peppermint=
(grinning) I think you know I'm really not bloodthirsty -Thanks

Tracie -
There's a precise moment when a light nip on the neck MAY be appropriate - - but it works both ways - can send one over the edge
Thanks

Sharon-
When the fangs come out - they're long enough - to surmount turtlenecks so I'm told - Thanks ~S~

This lady sounds like someone I can relate to!

Hello Wilfred, an enchanting poem. Women through the ages have long been both  mesmerized and horrified at the thought of a vampire at their throat. It is a gruesome yet somehow erotic image, and is no wonder, as it depicts the ultimate in sexual surrender. A very skillfully executed piece of writing.
