My hands in my pockets Walking down the tracks Kicking a can a tuna That never once kicked me back I wish I could feel The right soil beneath my feet Daddy never bought me any shoes Momma died one night neath the Texas moon She’d been singing the good ole Misty Blues I just don’t think it would be right If I didn’t help you cock your harpoon Fishing is my fantasy While my toes are sucked by Aunty Bee You always did like bigger things Like scanning dust on angel’s wings You do my whaling just for me I wish I was your biggest catch I’d even play a little fetch And be curled beneath your toes Watching Saturday mornin’ fishing shows I want to be the soil beneath your feet Just shoot me and make my life complete [This message has been edited by wayoutwalt (edited 10-27-2000).] |
