This was co-written with HOLLY!!! **butterflies_dont_cry** our last duet together There are some dances in life that must never be finished and this is the result of such a dance. This is a COMPLETE "uncompleted" work of two souls that will forever remain uncompleted in words. It is as it should be and as it was meant to be. To the one I share this dance with I give to you all that I am and know that the reason for you leaving the dance floor is to go and find YOUR song in life. I will forever cherish this tune and the dance upon the wings of a butterfly with you. OUR LAST DANCE I have dreamed of the day When you would be able to rest To find you in sleeping in my arms With your head placed upon my chest I've dreamed of the day Where I could hear your hearbeat Feel your body relax under mine Awake as the stars in our eyes meet Can you feel the love I have for you Do you feel securities warmth in me The power of the heavens in our soul As we now begin the destiny meant to be Peace and loving heart engulf me here Within your embrace so strong To feel a soul intertwined with mine I'd wait a lifetime to get where we belong This dream is now becoming a reality As your slumber has given "US" peace Our hearts have now tasted in the twilight The promise in the stars for your sorrow to cease New found strength courses through my veins As this bond between us grows In the wake of a midnight wishes remains The pathway of stars to a never ending love glows Dance with me now upon this midnight rainbow Twirl with me through the spatterings of solar spray The colors of our love painting face upon luna's glow As we step into our souls with the passing of this day written by: Holly Blue(butterflies_dont_cry) Mark Bohannan ****A combined effort between a butterfly and a cowboy as one soars into her beauty and the other rides onto the range of his promise.**** ***This is the last ever duet between butterflies_dont_cry and I and it will forever remain unfinished. I hope you all enjoy what there is in it and give her the thanks and appreciation she so dearly deserves. [This message has been edited by Mark Bohannan (edited 09-27-2000).] |

The emotion that was written in these words is so very strong.......full of unconditional and unselfish love.....a rare kind of love to find and to feel. Your lives have forever been changed now that your hearts united....you have given each other so very much.....Your words here say all that is needed........with that I say Love is forever........ Take Care Jenn E |

Mark.... Some things are better left unfinished, as that way they are never done... I feel as though I've read your heart... Today is a gift.... That is why they call it 'the Present'! |

Mark, an everlasting love, held forever in your heart. So wonderful, and so well written. Your work is always beautiful and this is stunning. I can only say I feel as if I caught a glimpse of heaven in these words. Marsha |

you danced upon the winds and then soared above the clouds you skipped amongst the stars you made the angels proud you two-stepped with fate and danced with destiny your gifts mended wings to fly you help set a captured butterfly free ********* Mark this duet between you and butterfly is a perfect melding of spirits which when given with the gift of unconditional love... sets both souls free... your dedication says it all ... the dance is a celebration of things to come. *********** this song was given as a gift to me by DeVante'... when I was struggling with the reality of having to let go... while the circumstances were different ... these words still apply... I give them to you both with my love ... and with the hopes that the words give you the strength that they gave me ... ~Butterfly~ Mariah Carey When you love someone so deeply They become your life It's easy to succumb to overwhemling fears inside Blindly I imagined I could Keep you under glass Now I understand to hold you, I must open up my hands And watch you rise Spread your wings and prepare to fly For you have become a butterfly Fly abandonedly into the sun If you should return to me We truly were meant to be So spread your wings and fly Butterfly I have learned that beauty Has to flourish in the light Wild horses run unbridled Or their spirit dies You have given me the courage To be all that I can And truly feel your heart will Lead you back to me when your Ready to land I can't pretend these tears Aren't overflowing steadily I can't prevent this hurt from Almost over taking me But I will stand and say goodbye For you'll never be mine Until you know the way it feels to fly ****** Im here ... with stronger shoulders because of your love and guidence ... this you know. There are places inside our souls - that have never been touched. There are places inside our hearts - that need to be loved this much. ~jm~ |

You are both wonderful poets and wonderful people. This poem really stuck a chord in my heart. Such a beautiful thing should never be finished... False gems may shine as brightly as the genuine article, but there are always those who can tell the diffrence. |

Mark, as always, beautiful! Not that I don't get into what I read, but I don't normally get so affected by reading poetry, but this was different. I was very moved, and, almost choked up. Thank you for sharing!! sp |

Mark, This is probably one of the most beautiful and touching poems I've ever read in my life. You and butterflies dont cry have a gift and love of a friendship that is sent straight from heaven and God above. I know I speak for manys when I say it is an ultimate pleasure to be amongst such fine talent!! Respectfully, Amy "The head learns knew things, but the heart forever more practices old experiences" |

Someone said (???) : "Of all the words of tongue or pen the saddest of these 'it might have been'" This quote may not be appropriate but it came to mind all the same - a beautiful write - I an sad it remains "unfinished" ~You have to have a dream so you can get up in the morning. ~ Billy Wilder |

Jenn E-Love "IS" forever and need not shine in the light of day to find the smiles resting on the heart. Holly-Never be sorry...don't you remember your lessons? A true honor to me and for me was to share these words with you and to have graced the dance floor of the stars one last time. Now my friend it is time for you to take all that has been taught in life and love and give and receive and to share the following with the promise of healing. You know where to share these words I am about to place below and that is where they should be shared....this one is "YOURS" as you know and now it is time for you to teach all that you have come to know. Keep your eyes forever green my friend. Through Your Eyes Through your eyes... I see much The depth of your soul The secrets of your heart Through your eyes... I feel all The warmth of your touch The gentleness of your kiss Through your eyes... I have love Sharing our breath Merging our hearts Through your eyes... I tell all My life given over To my trust in you Through your eyes... I offer this The respect as one The truth in love Through your eyes... I give to you The passage to me Through my eyes Mark Bohannan rosepetals25-Smiles and sighs back at you Sunny1-I try to put my heart in ALL I write and tis true; dancing on some nights should never stay to see the light of day Marsha-If heaven is what you saw then you saw what I have been blessed with in my friend. JM-Is the world ever truely ready for "perfection"? The "one" weakness of TRUE LOVE is that it has "none" seraphin-Tears of joy I hope for the butterfly finding her wings. LoveBug-Some things never are finished and that is the beauty of all the tomorrows as they hold all of our dreams Greeneyes-The only way to love is to make sure it is unconditional and that is how it is and how it shall forever be Martie-Bet you didn't know that cowboys could reach the sky did you. Had a little help from some pretty strong wings of a butterfly snowpants-Poetry is relished in that while you may not be moved one day when coming back to it tomorrow it may break through and kiss your soul. Balladeer-Saddle up my friend, we are in for one hell of a ride. (will be asking in the near future for that ride in rhyme between two a gentleman and a hired hand) It would honor me so. Rosebud1229-Nice thing about stars is that they can be shared without ever touching the ground and when they do fall they have another of their kind to take over their brilliance. Aimster-She alone is a gift of love and to have received that gift without having to ever opening it to see the contents was the greatest gift of all. Never peeking and never shaking til the holiday is here. Wilfred- What might have been is an issue that will never have the right to live until the brink of dawn never again rests on the day. This life or next...it is never done til the next becomes no more. Thank you all for always being so kind in your replies and to all who read of my last dance with the butterfly whether a reply is left or not I would wish for peace and love in your heart to the depths of which I have tasted upon her wings. It is with "GREAT" honor that I celebrate with her all the gifts within her heart as she now rests them at the feet of one that is deserving and who has come to realize that the beauty of a butterfly is NOT resting on her wings but fluttering within her heart and soul. Mark, I feel very priveleged to have read this poem. Captivating from start to finish, I glided through each line, and found myself at the end of a rainbow that promised love to the whole world... sounds corny... but ... I loved it. Linda Munday. |

Mark what you have written has both beauty and grace. Very nice. Spin in the wind my friend, a chance to dance, and dream of the day the butterfly becomes as free as an eagle. They that wait... Shall renew their strength... they shall mount up with wings as an eagle, they shall run and not grow weary, they shall walk and not faint. HUGS, Deb |

Treat love as a butterfly and let it be free if it is real it will come back to thee * * * and shall cowboys roam a range to find all? then let him have yet the last dance in the cowboy's hall * * * that two people can find hope in words alone says that there is yet a chance for all of us... Mark This was absolutely beatiful, I can't express to you the feelings I felt as I read this piece, it was unbelievably moving. You have summed up everything I am feeling right now. You are very correct when you said some dances just aren't meant to last until morning, I am just beginning to understand that. Thank you so much for sharing this, for allowing me to read about love unconditional and believe that it really does exist. wonderful "In three words I can sum up everything I learned about life: It Goes On" ~Robert Frost |

Mark, This was a beautiful piece and I love the fact that is unfinished and up in the air. It so mirrors true life in that respect. I am sad to see a dear friend go, but I am happy to watch her show us all she can be. I know she will soar high and far. I pray that one day, she will find her way back to our hearts and visit our haven so that we know she has not forgotten us and we can all marvel at her brilliance. I know this butterfly has marked my soul forever and she will ALWAYS have a place in my heart. Fly on sweetie. Spread your wings and let me hear that ROAR!!! And yes, for old times . . .slm Love you, Holly. Wonderful poem, Mark. Lone Wolf Poetry should surprise by fine excess...it should strike the reader as a wording of his own highest thoughts and appear almost a remembrance. -J.Keats |

Karilea-Thank you so much and yes this cowboy will someday have his dance. I know you don't know how I know but I do. Sorry if that sounded off the wall. Thanks again my friend. Martini-Have I told you yet how so very happy I am to see you back? I DO know that it exists because I am living proof. Thank you so much for reading to Holly's and mine last duet together. Though it is not finished as we intended it , well it IS exactly where it needs to be. It is complete in it's unaswered questions Thank you so very. |

Lone Wolf-You snuck in on me. She is everything you said and so much more. I am so honored that I know parts of her that most don't because she didn't show it in her poetry. To have written this piece WITH her and to have it left like this is so fitting. It is something that will forever live in tribute to what I was able to share with her. I too miss her more than anyone in the world could ever know as when we danced we did it in the stars. We were brought together through the stars, we danced in the stars from the very beginning and now we say farewell, till someday we meet again, through the stars. If it be heaven that I finally get to gaze into her eyes then so be it. It will be worth the wait to see the lovely green eyes that captured me in soul alone and took me so much deeper. Thank you so much and I didn't mean to ramble. |

Juls-Thank you so much. I am glad that you enjoyed it and it "IS" the most beautiful one I have written because I DID NOT WRITE it alone. It has the kiss of a butterfly and the hugs of an angel in it. |

i'm sorry i dont know the stor(ies) behind all this beauty and love shared..but this is a wonderful poem..and as has been sd, some things are better left unfinished, untoyed with; as they were left, and found.. so lovely a relationship should perhaps remain "unfinished" so as never to be closed off completely ... hugs to both of you... dg theres no such thing as a failure who keeps trying--coasting to the bottom is the only disgrace. -j popper |

The whole story is pretty much in the archives if you are interested but do not get confused as you read it. And yes, sometimes it is better not toyed with as you say because toys in the hands of adults are not cherished near as much as those in the hands of a child's innocense. Thank you from Me and HOLLY as well. I know she would like for me to thank you as well. suthern-The whole colaboration was lovely in every way and shall forvever be sealed in that. I thank you for reading as would my friend Holly as we will always have this one to hold onto for eternity and into the next life. |

A very heartfelt thank you to those of you that replied to this piece. Yes, Mark and I wrote this together for those of you that mentioned it...those that didn't...don't feel bad...Mark is an amazing writer and this piece would not have been so dazzling if not for him, so if you only mentioned him thank you too because it's truly an honor that I could shine as bright through his ability. Thank you all for your tender words and as my butterfly has said....this was her last post in her reply above. To anyone reading this from this point on please let this one now rest and make any comments via e-mail or on another post of mine. It is time to let this one go and fly free as she is. Holly-It has been a tearful and tender see ya with all of this and now my sweet friend and forever soul-mate....I say to you...fly free...fly high....and fly as you. You know that I will feel every bit of you in my heart as you journey onward and I will be forever holding you in strength as I am now just like both side of you on this post. You are sandwiched between my heart and my soul forever now. Everyone....Please read the above comments before replying. Thank you. Time to let it rest for her. |
