A page from the journal...
Of an Insomniac Gone Mad...
4:54am...

a sweep of darkness
covered me this morning
chilling the room
       cooling the embers
that slowly burn
within the soul

touching a place
I've closed off
    to myself
to everyone who claims
they
   know
or
         understand

they couldn't
   it's madness
complete and
unforgiving
          control
or lack of
  that drives this force

flames
   flicker
and I fan them
giving until the last
breath
       dies
and still it cools
  and still
           it fades
the white ash
disappearing
falling
out of my grasp

where
 is the peace now
how could it be
so lost
   when it was held
so close
   guarded
loved and
nurtured

don't try to
  make sense of me
or see if
you can erase
the shadows

they belong to me
   like the madness
my strength weakens
nothing
fades
    nothing
erases

all.....
   of me

Neve, This piece always strikes deep. Pausing to consider each word, it never loses its potency. You diverse talents shine through in its delivery.

Snow.....beautiful artistry from you on my monitor today.  The brevity of words brings forth the power even more.

Thank you....I look forward to reading more of your work!
