Amy's Note:
my dad met a wonderful lady named Susan about a year ago. My Mom's death needless to say hit my family very hard. It was a long four and a half years until love came into our lives once more. And I just wanted to take a moment to share this Angel of a woman with all of you.

Susan
Amy M Kennedy

Time goes by in a flash, the day has come and gone
And I realize, there is still so much to say
Susan, I am glad you are a part of our lives...this is where you belong
You make my dad happy, and bring joy into our lives...please always stay

When my Mom was taken into heaven...the sky turned dark and gray
The light in my heart went out, and the rain did pour
But I realize I love you more each and every single day
You make us smile, you make my life happy, you allow all our souls to soar

Your life has been hard, I know and feel your deep pain
I know I'm not your daughter by birth, and your in our life by choice
Your kids live in another state, and I know it's not the same
But I smile when I wake up in the morning, and I hear your voice

You have a heart of pure gold, and a smile that lights up the sky
With just a touch of your hand, you let me know things will be okay
I value our talks, your wisdom and advice, that is no lie
Your love pours out for us in all that you do, in your own special way

And while you are not my Mom, you are turning out to be a best friend
And I simply wanted to let you know, I thank God you are here
For without you our world would be dark, and our hearts wouldn't mend
With you in our lives, we no longer shed a tear

I think my Mom hand-picked you from the heavens above
She knew from the start that you would be what we would need
From day one our friendship has grown and blossomed into love
And now a beautiful garden has blossomed, all from a single seed.

If you ever need a hand or someone to cheer you up, feel free to call on me
When you go I miss you, and I can't wait till you come back
So I know forever a bond you and I will share
And if you need a friend, please know I love you and I will always care.
