He lays in gentle slumber...as the next adventure plays in his head
I sigh as the day replays itself...watching my little tornado lay in his bed

3 1/2 ft tall, white lightening quick, smile of the naughtiest cherub at play
Remarks left me with tears of laughter...agony of the millionth question today

Why can’t we see air...Why aren’t my fingers on my feet...Why's the sky blue
Why can't I eat icecream for breakfast...When can I say "that word" like you

Some day my answers won’t be enough to soothe the wonderment of his mind
Maybe someday I can convince him that if he kisses his sister...he won’t go blind

There were so many adventures today...fishing for an electric eel
Tracking outlaws and fighting beasts with a sword of paper towel steel

There were tense moments...dumping salt in my first cup of coffee today
Then when I asked him why....he told me I shouldn't drink coffee anyway

Blonde hair, blue eyes...how could I ever be angry at this little imp
Charm, spirit and spunk...I know without a doubt God did not skimp

Under resting lids the mischievous eyes shine within this bundle of imagination
I thank the stars above for the energy once again to run after this miracle creation

I kiss his cheek of baby soft skin...he looks fragile and so very small
Moments like this make living with Hurricane Matthew worth it all

It's a beautiful poem!
They make you so proud of them when they are
that young even when a storm comes.

Butterflies,
Children are worth all the mischief they get into. The little pleasures they hand out simply mean they are at play, testing, pressing, questioning your every emotions.

Respond to my call and let the waves of my heart fill your life with the wonders of love

I see that he is a little cowboy himself, so that in itself makes for a tornado for sure.  Beautiful heart for a beautiful gift of heaven written by the most beautiful of mom's.   I am smiling and at all the energy you must use during just one single day and I must admit, I miss spending that time everyday with my own.  Enjoy it now because my friend, like it or not, he is going to grow up.  He is as cute as his mom is beautiful btw.

Thought I would come back and leave little Matthew a few "COWBOY" toys to play with.  Now mom, before you say it...let him play.  Cowboys are tuff little critters!!!lol

There ya go Matthew!!!!  Have fun and as for the rope, one day you will learn that it is good for more than just catchin them thar "4" legged critters.LOL  Too early for you in life for that right now but I heard that practicing on mommies and sisters made for a sure hand in the future.

Evening Butterflies_dont_cry,

What a cutie he is, and what a wonderful poem about him. You will save this writing for when he gets older so he can see it?
